Marketing Introduction

Mobile operators are introducing more and more new services and features with each passing year. New services often require not only a software solution on the operator’s side‚ but also a special component on the subscriber’s SIM card. It’s not hard to configure the content of new SIM cards‚ as all the necessary content is preloaded on them at the factory.

But it’s much more difficult with cards that are already in use‚ especially if the subscriber base numbers in the millions. There is currently only one way to change the contents of an SIM card and that is through OTA technology‚ which provides access to the card via the mobile network using the techniques described in 3gpp 11.11 and Global Platform.

OTA lets you organize:

  • Remote File Management (including reading the contents of files‚ updating and deleting them)
  • Remote Application Management (removing and installing applications)
